Training & Mandates

RSM Richter Chamberland offers a carefully thought-out and well-executed summer training program, which blends classroom training with practical “real-world” accounting mandates.

Preparatory Training
The initial two weeks of training, which include team building events, provide summer students with the knowledge and tools they require to contribute to the success of their respective audit teams. Throughout the summer, all interns meet on Fridays for ongoing training sessions on subjects dealing with accounting, auditing, taxation, and information technology .

Internal Practical Training
RSM Richter Chamberland gives all summer students the opportunity to complete a practical training in one of the Firm’s specialized service teams, such as Tax, Insolvency and Consulting, Human Resources, Professional Standards, Marketing, Wealth Management, Administration and Finance, and Enterprise Accounting. During this two to three week training, interns are able to familiarize themselves with the different skills and knowledge sets used in a particular specialization. They can also begin to establish a network of contacts that will be useful for years to come.

External Training
The external training program lasts approximately two weeks, during which students are assigned to assist RSM Richter Chamberland’s clients, more specifically their controllers. This experience provides students with a more diversified working experience, as well as insight into our clients’ perspective of accounting work.

Audit Mandates
Throughout the summer internship, each student participates in at least one audit mandate, which lasts approximately two weeks. Within their audit team, they work in groups of three to six people of different levels, according to the size of the client mandate.
