Summer Event

Fiza on the Summer Event
At RSM Richter, quality work is of paramount importance, although the firm pays a lot of attention to atmosphere and the social side of things. Several activities are organized throughout the year to allow all staff members to relax with their fellow workers outside the office. Last July 3, we were given an opportunity to participate in one of these events, the RSM Richter summer Event. This is probably one of the firm’s most appreciated activities, since for many employees it represents a perfect opportunity to socialize, have fun, eat and dance in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

During this event, employees from all departments got together and spent a wonderful evening on the terrace of the Hyatt Regency hotel, enjoying the fine weather and a magnificent view of the Jazz Festival.

For us, this was an opportunity to meet people from all levels with whom we have little contact on a daily basis. It was also our chance to get to know each other better through conversation, a good meal and fine music.

The evening also provided summer students with a chance to set up a booth in the reception area to raise funds for the Foundation of Stars. The amount collected on July 3 was added to the proceeds from various other activities that we organized in support of this charitable organization.

Jason on the Summer Event
The firm’s summer event held on July 3rd at the terrace of Hyatt Regency Hotel was definitely the highlight of the summer, and the entire firm was invited to participate. It provided all the summer students with an opportunity to get to know people working at different levels in the firm. We had a chance to interact with some wonderful people while enjoying great food.

Did I mention that the party coincided with the Montreal Jazz Festival? All through dinner, conversation and dancing overlooked one of Canada’s most renowned events. The entire setting provided for an excellent occasion to relax and meet new people.

The interns took the time to mingle with staff accountants, managers and partners and relate to them on a more personal level. For instance, I learned that a supervisor in tax worked 11 years ago for the same event planning company that I work for during the school year. We spoke and laughed about the many amusing, and sometimes embarrassing situations, we found ourselves in. We also discussed the charity events that the summer interns had planned which solidified my belief that RSM Richter is a generous firm, and the perfect place to start a career.

This event laid the foundation for many new friendships, and I thank Richter for hosting this event year after year.
