Robert Chayer, M.S. Tax

Robert Chayer is a partner in our Tax Division, where he leads our U.S. tax team. Robert’s clientele is primarily composed of accounting and legal firms based in Canada, who call upon his leading-edge expertise in taxation to support their clients.

 

With over 20 years of experience, Robert offers advice to individuals and companies in the field of U.S. and cross-border tax planning (e.g. income tax, sales tax, estate tax). He also offers services in connection with the preparation of tax returns for American companies, and the preparation of Canadian and U.S. tax returns for individuals (services to expatriates).

 

In 2004, Robert founded CANAMTAX, a firm specialized in U.S. tax services for Canadians with which RSM Richter Chamberland joined forces in 2010. Previously, he was a U.S. tax partner for a large accounting firm.

Robert taught the U.S. tax course in the Masters Program of the Université de Sherbrooke and the École des hautes études commerciales. Co-author of the book “Faire affaires aux États-Unis – Aspects fiscaux”, he is a guest lecturer for several important organizations, including the Ordre des comptables agréés du Québec, the Ordre des administrateurs agréés du Québec and the Association de planification fiscale et financière.
